The First Draft

Write as fast as you can while still remaining comfortable. Write rapidly, putting the story down as exactly as it comes into your mind, only looking back to check the names of characters and their relevant parts of their back-stories.

The first draft is going to be horrible beyond belief. It is easier to get it wrong first and then turn wrong into right. Keep expectations low. Get the words down as quickly as possible.
