Your consciousness is the process of experiencing, naming and recording events. We use consciousness to challenge and respond to events. Consciousness is observation. Without it, we cannot challenge, respond, without experiencing and naming. Without this, there are no memories and therefore no stories.
Everyone we meet brings with them a personal world more strange and complex than any we could hope to imagine. By listening to their stories, by noticing their needs, desires, or ambitions, we fold their world onto our own and neither of us will ever be the same.
